General terms and conditions of business
If a certificate requirement is imposed for the coming winter, it will apply throughout the entire ski area. In this case, not using the (transportation) facilities does not entitle you to an exchange, modification, transfer, full or partial refund, or return of purchased tickets/passes.
A closure or partial closure of the facilities is expressly reserved and does not give rise to any claims, just as in the case of service interruptions.
If a pandemic-related interruption of operations of at least 14 operating days is imposed, you will be reimbursed at the end of the validity period for the unusable operating days on a pro rata basis in the form of a voucher.
Calculation: (Paid price x number of lost operating days) / total number of operating days (annual or seasonal pass)

The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all (paid and free) services, events, experience offers and bookable products (hereinafter collectively: "Services") as well as gastronomy and accommodation services (hereinafter collectively: "Accommodation Services") of Bergbahnen Beckenried-Emmetten AG (hereinafter: "BBE AG"). When using certain services, additional special provisions may apply.
We reserve the right to make changes to all information (including tariff information).
By using the services and accommodation facilities of BBE AG, you acknowledge the validity of these GTC. A written version of these GTC can be obtained from BBE AG or downloaded online at klewenalp.ch.
The contract with BBE AG comes into effect with the unconditional acceptance, i.e. with the purchase of one or more of the company’s services and accommodation services. From this point on, the rights and obligations under the contract, including these GTC, become effective.
A contract is only concluded upon confirmation by BBE AG (acceptance/ticket issuance) of the customer’s written, telephone or electronic booking/registration (offer/ticket purchase).
If the agreement concerns mediated services of third parties, the contract is concluded between the customer and the third-party provider. In such cases, BBE AG is not a contractual party.
BBE AG undertakes to provide the services and accommodation services in accordance with the descriptions. The basis is the service descriptions in the valid brochures and/or electronic media as well as other written offers of BBE AG. Special rates, special requests and side agreements are only part of the contract if they have been confirmed in writing.
All other information material not produced by BBE AG and/or information from third parties is non-binding and does not establish any obligation on the part of BBE AG.
The prices are based on the respective offer or the valid price lists of BBE AG. Different agreements between the customer and BBE AG are reserved. Price changes will be published in good time and may occur at any time with immediate effect.
All prices include the currently valid VAT. An increase in VAT between conclusion of the contract and performance of the service shall be borne by the customer.
All services are offered exclusively in Swiss Francs (CHF). Prices quoted in foreign currencies are only indicative values. In the case of payment in foreign currency, conversion is made at the current daily exchange rates. Any fees are borne by the customer. Change is generally given in Swiss Francs.
Purchased vouchers and vouchers issued free of charge (sponsorship, PR purposes, shareholder tickets, etc.) will not be extended. If the specified service of the voucher (e.g. experience offers) can no longer be provided, it will be converted into a value voucher, without changing the validity. Lost vouchers will not be replaced.
Since most vouchers (E-Guma vouchers from BBE AG or vouchers from third-party providers/distribution partners) can be printed out by the purchaser, several prints are possible, but only one print is valid and redeemable. The first redeemed voucher is considered the original and will be debited immediately by BBE AG after redemption. If further copies with the same code appear, this constitutes misuse, which has legal consequences.
Payment is due immediately upon conclusion of the contract. Tickets on credit or invoice are generally not provided. An exception must be agreed in advance and is only valid if confirmed in writing.
When paying by invoice, the customer undertakes to pay the invoiced amount by the due date stated on the invoice. Objections to the invoice must be submitted in writing and with reasons within 10 days.
If the customer does not meet the payment obligation within the payment period, they are automatically in default after this period without further reminder and must pay default interest of 5%. If payment is not made even after the second reminder, BBE AG is entitled to suspend all services to the customer without further notice.
BBE AG reserves the right to request advance payment for services in whole or in part. For events with a foreign billing address, a credit card number with expiry date and CVC must be provided. This also applies to events booked from abroad. Different agreements between the customer and BBE AG remain reserved.
If the customer defaults on the advance payment, BBE AG is entitled to withdraw from the contract. Bank transfer and cheque fees are borne by the sender.
Significant changes or cancellations of agreements (e.g. booking of experience offers) must be communicated to BBE AG as early as possible and in writing. If the reservation is completely cancelled without BBE AG being responsible, the following cancellation fees generally apply:
• up to 48 hours before the agreed date: free of charge
• up to 24 hours before the agreed date: 50%
• on the same day: 100%
Different agreements between the customer and BBE AG remain reserved. The receipt of the written cancellation at BBE AG is decisive for the calculation.
If the cancellation concerns exclusively mediated services of third parties, the contractual provisions or GTC of the third-party providers apply.
BBE AG is entitled at any time to withdraw from the contract for important reasons or to terminate the activity prematurely. Important reasons include weather conditions, natural events, official requirements and prohibitions, safety aspects and cases of force majeure as well as other circumstances beyond the control of BBE AG. The price paid will be refunded in this case, minus the services already provided by BBE AG.
Further claims for compensation are excluded. Program changes and delays in the timetable remain expressly reserved if important reasons exist. BBE AG will endeavour to offer an equivalent replacement service; however, in such cases there is no legal entitlement of the customer.
Furthermore, BBE AG may withdraw from the contract under the following conditions:
• if participants give justified cause through their actions and/or omissions;
• if BBE AG discovers that events were booked under misleading or false information of essential facts;
• if there is justified reason to believe that the event or its participants endanger the smooth operation, safety or reputation of BBE AG in general or of its guests;
• if third parties, involved in the organisation at the request of the organiser through BBE AG, completely or partially prevent the provision of services.
Certain areas of the facilities are monitored. In addition, video surveillance is carried out at specific points. BBE AG undertakes to comply with the applicable data protection legislation in the handling and processing of all customer data and usage data.
Customer data is used solely to maintain and improve customer relations, quality and service standards, to maximise operational safety or in the interests of sales promotion, product design, crime prevention, business statistics and invoicing. Otherwise, the transfer of customer data to third parties is only permitted with the express consent of the customer. An exception applies only if BBE AG is legally obliged to disclose personal data to third parties.
BBE AG undertakes to carefully provide services in accordance with the contract, these GTC and the other contractual provisions. BBE AG is only liable for intentional or grossly negligent contractual or non-contractual damage. The burden of proof lies with the customer. Any further liability (slight, medium negligence; strict liability) is excluded. BBE AG is not liable for circumstances resulting from unforeseeable events or force majeure.
Any complaints regarding the performance of BBE AG must be reported immediately to BBE AG. Failure to do so will result in the customer losing any potential claims against the company.
For personal injury and property damage resulting from non-fulfilment or improper fulfilment of the contract, BBE AG is liable within the framework of these GTC and the applicable national laws. Any liability for theft, loss, etc. of property and assets for which BBE AG is not responsible is excluded.
BBE AG has industry-standard insurance for disruptions or accidents. The customer is liable to BBE AG for damages and losses caused by them or their assistants or participants, without BBE AG having to prove fault. Therefore, BBE AG recommends that all customers obtain additional insurance coverage.
The use of BBE AG’s WLAN is at the user’s own risk. BBE AG expressly disclaims liability for any consequences arising therefrom. It is explicitly pointed out that users are not permitted to use the network for illegal, criminal and/or immoral content and actions.
BBE AG reserves the right to amend these GTC or parts thereof and the other contractual provisions at any time. Amendments to the GTC will be communicated to the customer in due time, stating the effective date. If the customer is significantly disadvantaged by the amendment of the GTC, he has the right to terminate the contract upon the entry into force of the amended GTC. The right of termination expires upon the entry into force of the amendment.
Amendments to a contractual agreement must be made in writing and signed by the parties. Notifications by e-mail are deemed to be made in writing.
The contract between the customer and BBE AG is subject to Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Beckenried, unless mandatory statutory provisions prescribe another jurisdiction.
By selling a ticket or a subscription, BBE AG undertakes to transport the lawful ticket or subscription holder and/or his material in accordance with these GTC. Included is the use of all prepared and marked slopes as well as hiking, snowshoe and sledging trails, provided these have been declared open by BBE AG. The included “passpartout” zones 21, 32, 42 in season and annual passes are only valid for arrival and departure in connection with the use of the railway.
Exceptions to the obligation to transport are regulated below.
Tickets and subscriptions are only valid during the published operating hours. For evening and special events outside operating hours, subscriptions are not valid unless expressly stated otherwise.
Tickets and subscriptions are personal and non-transferable. They are only valid during the published season and operating hours.
For the purchase of discounted tickets (small child, child, youth, etc.), official identification with date of birth must be presented without being requested. Without presentation of such identification, no deviation from the standard tariff will be granted. The decisive factor is the date of birth at the time of purchase. Local tariffs only apply when purchasing season and annual passes of BBE AG. Daily passes are excluded from local tariffs. Family discounts are granted on season and annual passes. Family day passes are also available. Families are defined as one or both parents together with their own children up to the age of 16. Persons with an official disability ID card travel free of charge. If such a person is accompanied, one companion travels free of charge and the second companion pays the reduced rate.
The online tickets offered on the website www.klewenalp.ch constitute a non-binding offer. Prices are stated in Swiss Francs including 7.7% VAT. By ordering a ticket online, a binding purchase contract is concluded. After payment by credit card, tickets will be sent as vouchers by e-mail. Vouchers can be exchanged for the corresponding ticket at BBE AG sales points. If no data carrier is available for loading, a deposit fee for the keycard will be charged (see section 16.4). Vouchers contain a forgery-proof code transmitted by BBE AG. As vouchers can be printed by the customer, multiple prints are possible, but only the first redeemed voucher is valid. It will be considered the original and will be debited immediately after redemption by BBE AG. Any additional vouchers with the same code are considered misuse and will have criminal consequences (see section 15.6). Lost vouchers will not be replaced. Vouchers cannot be refunded in cash.
If tickets are issued as keycards, a deposit fee of CHF 5.00 will be charged. The deposit will be refunded upon return of the keycard. In case of a damaged keycard, no refund will be made. The keycard can be reloaded at the BBE AG sales office.
Half-day, day and multi-day passes are not replaced in case of loss or theft. When purchasing a season/annual pass, the buyer receives a blocking receipt. In case of loss or theft, a replacement card will be issued upon presentation of the blocking receipt. No handling fee will be charged for the replacement, but the CHF 5.00 deposit fee applies.
Tickets and passes may be checked at any time by BBE AG staff. Misused or forged tickets and passes will be confiscated. A fine of CHF 200.00 will be charged. Civil or criminal action remains reserved.
Purchased tickets and passes are not exchanged, modified, or refunded. The refund of money must be checked immediately upon issue of the ticket. Later complaints cannot be considered. In the event of illness or accident, a refund is only possible upon presentation of a medical certificate from a local doctor or a hospital report from a regional hospital (or a destination hospital of the rescue organization). The medical certificate must state the duration during which the person cannot practice winter sports or travel to the mountain area. The subscription price will then be refunded proportionally from the day after the last use. The subscription must be returned to a sales office or sent by post without delay. Other personal reasons are not grounds for a refund.
Refunds are based on the sales price and require proof of purchase. A processing fee of CHF 20.00 is charged per refund. Refunds are made in the form of a voucher. If BBE AG is unable to fulfil its obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, no claims for reduction or refund can be made. This applies in particular to interruptions or closures of operations, piste and trail closures in cases of:
There is an electronic issuing and control system for tickets. Readers must be used properly and visitors must follow staff instructions. Staff may carry out checks at any time. On request, ticket holders must present a valid identity card or equivalent document.
Persons may be excluded from transport if they:
Persons may be excluded from transport if weather conditions are unsuitable, in particular due to avalanche danger. Persons may also be excluded if they endanger others immediately prior to transport and there is reason to believe they will continue to do so. In cases of recurrence or serious misconduct, the ticket or subscription may be withdrawn. Endangerment includes in particular:
The FIS rules of conduct and SKUS guidelines must be observed. Skiing is at your own risk. Marked and closed pistes must not be left. Forest and wildlife protection zones must be avoided. After closing time, pistes are closed and not protected from dangers such as avalanche blasting or piste machines. Entering or skiing after closure is prohibited.
If a customer has an accident in the BBE AG area and requires rescue services, CHF 250.00 will be charged. Third-party costs (e.g., REGA, doctor) are to be paid by the customer. Any claims must be made to the customer’s insurance.
The customer must inform BBE AG of the final number of participants as early as possible, but at the latest 48 hours before the event. Reductions of up to 5% will be accepted. Greater reductions will be charged. If more participants attend than announced, the actual number will be charged.
BBE AG guarantees performance for up to 5% more participants under the same conditions. If the deviation is greater, BBE AG is entitled to adjust prices or provide other rooms if reasonable. If official or safety reasons require a change, the organizer cannot object.
The organizer must provide BBE AG with the detailed program and all necessary information at least 10 days before the event. Delays caused by the organizer may result in extra costs charged by BBE AG.
Significant changes or cancellations must be communicated to BBE AG as early as possible and in writing. If a reservation is cancelled without BBE AG being responsible, the following cancellation fees apply (% of reserved services):
If services (transport, menu, drinks) were not fixed, CHF 100.00 per person applies. The written cancellation date is decisive. If services can be resold under the same conditions, a processing fee of CHF 50.00 is charged.
Cancellations for individuals are free up to 48 hours before arrival. Later cancellations or no-shows will be charged for one overnight stay.
The organizer may not bring food or drinks unless agreed in writing with BBE AG. In such cases, a service fee will be charged.
Same as section 21.3.
Check-in: 15:00–17:00 at valley station Beckenried (instructions, vouchers, tickets).
Check-out: by 10:00, cleaned. Cleaning supplies are provided next to the Tiny House.
Special services may incur extra charges. Such requests must be communicated early.
The customer is liable for damages or losses caused by themselves or participants. BBE AG is not liable for items brought by customers, organizers, lecturers or third parties. Insurance is the responsibility of the organizer. Proof of insurance may be requested.
If BBE AG has reason to believe that an event endangers smooth operations, safety, or reputation, it may terminate the reservation agreement at any time without compensation.
